Who goes to silent auction?
Anyone is welcome to attend! Parents from all grades attend, teachers and staff. This is a fun evening outside of school and we all hope to get to know one another better.
How does a silent auction work?
When you check in, you will be given a sheet of stickers with a number on it. This is your bidder number. All of the auction items have a bid sheet with suggested starting bid and increasing bid amounts. Place your sticker on the amount you wish to pay to outbid the previous bidder. At the end of the auction period, the number who has the highest bid wins the item.
Is there also a live auction too?
YES! Some of our most popular items are available at LIVE auction. Actual items will be available closer to the event
What kind of items are in the silent auction?
In addition to all the wonderful class projects and baskets, we have received donations from both local and national companies. There are many gift cards for restaurants and retailers, group dinners, birthday party packages, museum memberships, cookbooks, spa packages, oil changes, dental services, photography packages, Herod Enrichment classes and “dates” with Herod teachers!

Do you still need help or volunteers for auction?
YES! We have been planning for months, but there is a great deal of work still to be done. If you are attending auction, and even if you aren’t – consider volunteering the day of auction.
We need pick up trucks and vans to transport all the items to the venue. We meet at Herod at 9am and then convoy over to the location. Then most of the morning is spent setting up. Tables and linens will be in place, but all the auctions items and signs need to be placed, help is needed with centerpieces and decorations too.
There are small jobs throughout the evening and then of course we need help at the end of the night with checkout and breakdown of all the signs, auction items and decorations.
If you can help, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us when you are available and what you are willing to do. The more volunteers on the evening of the event, the smoother things will go.
I plan to attend, but need to leave early. Can I pay for my items and leave?
No, sorry. Check out for all auction items occurs at the end of the evening.
Can I just pick up my items at school after the auction?
The intent is that everyone pay for and pick up their won auction items the evening of the auction. If not, your winning item will be going home with . . . . someone. Not everything ends up in once place after the auction, so if you want to make sure you receive the items you won right away, plan to take them home with you that evening. Otherwise, it may be a week or more before you can receive it.
