Fundraising

Raising money for the school is a year-round activity for the PTO. It isn't just about Catalog sales, Bookfair, and the Silent Auction. There are lots of other ways you can contribute and help earn money for the school, just by doing everyday things like:

  • enjoying dinner out with the family,
  • shopping for groceries, and even ...
  • choosing an electric provider.

With just a little effort on your part, the PTO can earn valuable funds to be used for the benefit of students, teachers and the school as a whole. Below are some of the ways you can help.

Dining Out

Watch for Herod Spirit Nights at these local restaurants. Check our Calendar to find out when and where the next Spirit Night will be held:

While you are shopping

Link your Randall's and Kroger shopper cards so that Herod receives the benefit whenever you shop there. Throughout the year, promotions are run that may require an additional step, but this is something easy that you can do once to benefit Herod all year.

Print this form (pdf) and take it to the grocery store the next time you shop. Follow the instructions for each store so that Herod can earn money while you shop!

Target has a program called Take Charge of Education, in which Target cardholders can designate a school to receive 1% of REDCard purchases every time you shop. For more information about how the program works and how to link your Target Card to Herod Elementary, click here(pdf).

Get involved

The PTO hosts several events throughout the year, and we are always looking for additional volunteers to help out. Please see the list of volunteer opportunities needed at Herod now or in the near future and hopefully you will find something that interests you. Thanks in advance for all you do for our school!

Auction – help needed now through
February 25
Our annual Herod auction is scheduled for Saturday, February 25, 2012, but we need help starting now. The PTO needs help soliciting and securing the donations that will be auctioned off that night.  It is time now to start contacting our donors early.  If you are interested in helping with this, please contact Danna Garcia at president@herodpto.org.

Volunteers Needed – Listen to students read

Room Parents
Every class deserves a room parent! This valuable individual can assist the teacher and the class with many activities throughout the year. From helping the teacher distribute information, coordinating classroom volunteers, and organizing class parties and auction contributions, this individual can be a valuable resource to the teacher and parents of the class.
